What can be done for children with a painful past...
…to help them restore what the locusts have eaten?

Smiles where once tears abounded – The NLCH children are restored their childhood

Vikram, 7, was orphaned during the devastation wrought by the 1997 cyclone in Andhra Pradesh. He came to Bangalore with his neighbor and eventually found himself on the streets and ended up washing cars. His life was filled with helplessness and despair. A social worker brought him to NLCH. We put him in Carmel Convent School where he turned out to be one of the best students in the class studies.

Ajit Peter, 10, hails from Byrathi village in rural Bangalore . His father got paralyzed after being bitten by cobra. His mother works as a domestic servant to feed the family. He was brought to NLCH two years ago; and sent him to St. Paul 's school. He stood first in class. This year he received a double promotion in the school and captured the Best Student award.

These are only two precious souls speaking out from UEMI’S treasure chest of testimonies.
