The Genesis of Women's Programs
The wife of UEMI’s founder carries a persistent burden for women – especially those whose morale has been destroyed and dignity assaulted. After encountering 15 such hopeless women, she took her step in faith and our transformation program for women was born. This program today provides women with the skills that are necessary to support themselves and their children.
Groups of women are presently being trained in a one-year program to use their skills to make garments. The women have proved faithful, industrious and teachable. Seeing the love and sense of belonging exhibited towards them at UEMI’s women’s programs, they voluntarily come forward to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

Inside Women's Programs
Women are trained in tailoring, from the basics to the construction of frocks, shirts, baby frocks, and embroidery and knitting. Each day the women spend the first half hour hearing the Gospel, singing and participating in a time of fellowship. For the remaining two and a half hours they are taught how to tailor on sewing machines.
The garment industry in India is booming and there are very promising opportunities for these women to find jobs and become skilled, independent women. For these women, the painful past becomes a distant shadow. The new life provided to them by God’s grace has filled their hearts with the hope and promise of tomorrow – hearts that joyfully sing, “We are new creations, no more in condemnation, here in the grace of God we stand…

Women's Development Programs in the Tsunami Area
United Evangelical Mission has charted out a plan for the women between the age group of 20 and 40 in the tsunami-affected area of India. The sewing machines used in these two Tsunami projects are donated by GaiN International, Germany.
The goal of UEMI is to see the community totally transformed, self-sufficient and able to face any kinds of challenges such as natural calamities, social upheavals and others.
