Children are not born to be sold for bags of rice or to be offered as human sacrifices to appease angry Gods or hired out to brothels. But that's what was witnessed by UEMI’s founder in some parts of India. This “salesman turned God's foot-soldier” realized how Jesus' love for children was being trampled upon. Out of a genuine love, vision and compassion for the children was born a home for the homeless.
UEMI’s children's homes provide a safe and loving place for orphans, semi orphans, poor, abandoned, destitute and street children within the age group of 3 -18 years. In these homes, children have an opportunity to experience God's love, develop self-esteem, excel in studies and grow in the grace and knowledge of God. Our largest home has also founded and operated a Christian school that now offers education not only to the children in the home, but also to children in the surrounding, bustling city. Today more than 1,000 children benefit through various UEMI children programs, including nearly 400 in the residential children’s home programs in three different communities.
Community-Based Child Care (CBCC) is a program for the poor and needy children in a given community. Children who have no hope are provided with food, clothing, education and medical aid. CBCC also helps the community at large by promoting health, hygiene, literacy and income generation training to the parents of the children. The objective of CBCC program is to show God's love and bring about a transformation in a community by caring for the children. More than half of the children UEMI serves receive services through the Community-Based Child Care program.
UEMI’s Non-Residential Child Care (NRCC) program is exclusive for the poor and needy children who stay with their parents or guardians. These children receive monthly support from the UEM for their food, clothing and educational needs. These children are encouraged to pursue higher education. There are over 120 children enrolled in the Non Residential Child Care program.
